2011 MLB Postseason: Will Detroit or New York Take Game 5?

Well it was an elimination game for the New York Yankees last night and not only did A.J. Burnett respond with a solid outing but the offense exploded as the Bronx Bombers defeated the Detroit Tigers, 10-1. Now as we've got a do or die game 5, winner taking on the Texas Rangers in the ALCS, who will win on Wednesday night?

As I mentioned, it is always important and a big momentum builder if you can win the game right before heading back home. The Tigers did that in game 2 in New York and then took game 3 back home in Detroit. Now it's the Yankees that did such, capturing game 4 in Detroit and the series is now heading back to the Bronx.
The pitching matchup will be between Doug Fister and Ivan Nova, who wrapped up game 1 when it was postponed to last Saturday night. Nova looked tremendous while Fister was a little more shaky. Now how will either respond as this game decides who still has a chance at the World Series as well as knowing that both managers will not be afraid of an early hook.
I'm going to stick with my original prediction and I think the Yankees will win on Wednesday. Their performance offensively on Tuesday evening was just too good is my opinion. And I think we will be seeing a rematch of last year's ALCS this year.
