2011 MLB Postseason: League Championship Series Predictions

The 2011 MLB Postseason has its Final Four if you will as two teams in each league are left standing to decide who will duke it out to be crowned champions of baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers are left in the Senior Circuit while the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers are left in the Junior Circuit. Who will advance to the 2011 World Series? Here are my predictions.

These two NL Central rivals took divergent paths to the postseason. The Brewers led the Central almost all season and pulled away in the latter part of the year while the Cardinals rallied big time in September to steal the Wild Card from the Atlanta Braves. I think that the Cardinals' offense will keep them in every game this series but I just think that the Brewers' deeper pitching staff (their bullpen in particular) will prove to be the difference. I think that the Brewers will reach their first World Series since making it in 1982, back when they were in the American League. Beast mode carries on.

Brewers in 6

I think this series is really even between Detroit and Texas. I love how the Rangers offense came alive to take three in a row against Tampa Bay and you have to admire how the Tigers fought back the Yankees to get into this position. Both teams can hit the ball and both have solid pitching. But only the Tigers have Justin Verlander and I think he will be the difference as he simply cannot be touched be anybody right now.
Tigers in 7
