We Need Takeru Kobayashi at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest

So as always, the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest will be held on July 4th but unfortunately, one of the top contenders will not be there once again. For the second straight year, Takeru Kobayashi will not be at the competition, leaving Joey Chestnut as the all-but guaranteed winner. For the sake of competition and rivalry, we need Kobayashi going at it against Chestnut.
The crux of the problem is that fact that Kobayashi will not sign a contract with Major League Eating due to a dispute because of his ability to compete in non MJE sanctioned events. So the NFL and NBA are not the only ones with labor troubles...
Kidding aside, people know who Kobayashi is after he dominated the contest from 2001 to 2006 until Chestnut defeated him in 2007. In fact, its very similar to the Federer-Nadal rivalry as Kobayashi was dominant for years until Nadal rose up and got past Federer to be the world's number one, just like Chestnut.
Rivalries make sporting events much more exciting, but when it's an American versus a foreigner, the excitement and the intensity rises exponentially. That is what made the Hot Dog Eating Contest so exciting, because it was two great rivals going at it for the crown. Now, the excitement is gone. Let's be honest, last year's contest sucked and Chestnut was not pushed like he was before.
At least there will be a women's division competing at Coney Island on the fourth. Here's my response to that.
