Highlands Defeats Old Tappan 4-1

On a beautiful afternoon at Northern Highlands Regional High School today in Allendale, New Jersey, the Highlanders knocked off the Old Tappan Knights 4-1 behind a terrific performance from their ace Sameer Ganju and timely hitting in the second inning.
Ganju was simply awesome today as he pitched all seven innings as he struck out six batters while issuing only one walk. All of his pitches today were pristine, incluyding his legendary 12-6 curveball which made the Old Tappan batters more confused than Jeff Parles trying to decide what to eat at Tito's Burritos.
The Highlanders came alive at the dish in the second inning, where they scored all four of their runs in the inning as they took advantage of the mediocre defense of their rivals. Today was an example of how important it is to score all runners on base and not stranding them.
The Highlanders are now 4-5 and they play Hackensack tomorrow afternoon at 4:15. The game will be at NHRHS and I hope to see you all there.
