VCU Smokes Purdue, Marches To Sweet Sixteen

Shaka Smart, the head coach of the 11 seed Virginia-Commonwealth Rams, did not even think his team would even make the 2011 NCAA Tournament. But now his club is headed to the Sweet Sixteen in San Antonio after they crushed the 3 seed Purdue Boilermakers by a 94-76 score. This is the first ever appearance in the round of sixteen in the history of VCU's basketball program. And now the team that nobody thought had any business being in the tournament will take on either Notre Dame or Florida State on Friday at the Alamadome for the right to make the Elite Eight.
Spero Dedes and Bob Wenzel recap.
