Ohio State Obliterates George Mason, Cruises To Sweet Sixteen

A lot of folks across the nation thought that the George Mason Patriots, the eighth seed on the East region, could scare the Ohio State Buckeyes, the number one overall seed. Good call. The Buckeyes absolutely mauled Mason today by a 98-66 score today in Cleveland. Ohio State had no trouble putting the ball in the basket as they shot 61% from the field and an absurd 61.5% from three-point land. There were a lot of great individual performances for OSU, but the star of the day was David Lighty. The senior guard was flawless with the threeball as he made all seven of his attempts from behind the arc and totaled 25 points on the day.
And now, the Buckeyes are headed to the East regional semifinals in Newark, where they will take on the fourth seeded Kentucky Wildcats.
Gus Johnson and Len Elmore recap.
