Marquette Stuns Syracuse To Advance To The Sweet Sixteen

Tonight in Cleveland, the Golden Eagles bit the Orange. Buzz Williams' Marquette club, the 11 seed in the East region, was able to defeat Syracuse, the 3 seed, by a 66-62 score after Darius Johnson-Odom hit a three to break a tie after 'Cuse's Scoop Jardine went backcourt to catch an errant pass. For the first time since Dwayne Wade led the team to a Final Four in 2003, the Golden Eagles are headed to the regional semifinals. They will play North Carolina, who barely beat Washington, on Friday in Newark.
