Long Island Captures Northeast Conference Title, Marches On To NCAA's

For the first time in 14 years, the Blackbirds of Long Island University are going dancing. They defeated the Robert Morris Colonials, the two time defending conference champion, in an overtime thriller 85-82 to win the Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. The sellout crowd in Brooklyn were treated to a classic basketball game in which the Colonials had a catch and shoot threeball at the buzzer that did not go.
Bracketology 101 has the Blackbirds projected to be a fifteen seed. But could this play as well as Robert Morris did last year, when they had the 2 seeded Villanova on the ropes before the referees took the game over? The beauty of March Madness...
