Kentucky Holds Off North Carolina, Advances To Final Four

For the first time since 1998, the Kentucky Wildcats are headed to the Final Four after they held off a late charge from the North Carolina Tar Heels to win the East regional, 76-69. The Wildcats took control early with their hot shooting and they led throughout, although UNC certainly made it interesting late. Brandon Knight led all scorers with 22 points and DeAndre Liggins hit a clutch three pointer with 37 seconds remaining to give the Wildcats a four point lead (although replays showed his foot was on the line).
Kentucky will be making their fourteenth appearance in a Final Four and coach John Calipari is taking his third school to the round of four. They will be taking on the Connecticut Huskies this Saturday on CBS for the right to reach the National Championship game.
