Kemba Walker & UConn Capture 2011 Big East Title

Kemba Walker has been clutch for the Connecticut Huskies all week at the 2011 Big East Tournament and he came through big tonight in the final with 19 points as the Huskies defeated the Louisville Cardinals 69-66 for their fifth win in five days for the tournament championship. It was a see-saw battle at MSG tonight as UConn took a big lead early but Louisville staged a furious rally to make it a game. This is Connecticut's seventh tournament title, tying them with the Hoyas of Georgetown for most in Big East history.
Walker was far and away the best player in the conference this tournament and was easily the MVP and he not only set the record for most points in Big East tourney history with 130, but he collected so many big rebounds as well as steals and beautifully set up his teammates with crisp passing.

  1. Congratulations to Connecticut on winning five games in five days! That really is a remarkable accomplishment. Kemba Walker showed just how dominant he can be by destroying the Big East Tournament’s scoring record. Hopefully, they will get a respectable seed in the NCAA Tournament and their momentum will carry over in order to allow them to make a nice run.
