Arizona Shocks Duke To Advance To Elite Eight

Thanks to a scintillating 19-2 run at the start of the second and yet another terrific performance from Derrick Williams (32 points and 13 boards), the Arizona Wildcats pulled off the upset of Thursday's games by knocking off the top seeded Duke Blue Devils 93-77 to advance to the West Regional Final against Connecticut and the right to advance to the Final Four on Saturday. This is 'Zona's first appearance in the round of eight since 2005.

  1. Arizona has a habit of making deep tourney runs when no one expects them to. Then they usually don’t perform up to expectations in the seasons when they are expected to go deep in the tourney. This team reminds me of the ’97 team that caught everyone by surprise. I feel bad for UConn; I think they have no answer for Arizona’s talent.
