2011 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight Picks

And now there are eight. Eight teams are still fighting for the big prize of the 2011 NCAA Tournament as the four regional final matchups will take place on Saturday and Sunday and the winners of each will head to the Final Four down in Houston on April 2nd. Who will those four teams be?

March 26:

2 Florida v. 8 Butler
I have watched this Florida team at all and quite frankly, I am not that impressed. They are a very talented team but this team also plays at an inconsistent level throughout games. Butler always steps up their play once the calender hits March and I think they will reach the Final Four yet again.
Butler 67 Florida 65
3 Connecticut v. 5 Arizona
I have continually underestimated this UConn club and the simply incredible play of Kemba Walker. But that changes here. Derrick Williams will play terrifically but I simply do not see Walker and that club falling short on the Final Four. They are on a mission.
Connecticut 73 Arizona 70

March 27:

1 Kansas v. 11 Virginia Commonwealth
Well didn't we all look bad for criticizing the NCAA Selection Committee as heavily as we did for including this Rams squad, and who thought they would make it this far. However, the buck stops here. This Kansas team is too deep to fall to the undermanned Rams.

Kansas 78 VCU 69

2 North Carolina v. 4 Kentucky
This will be a high scoring affair on Sunday night as both of these teams are excellent on the offensive end. North Carolina, though, has the advantage on the inside as their post players have been awesome all tournament and I think that trend will be in their favor come Sunday.

North Carolina 89 Kentucky 84
