Garbage Excessive Celebration Call In Pinstripe Bowl Ruins Kansas State's Chances To Tie

With his team down 36-28 to Syracuse with 84 seconds left in the inaugural Pinstripe Bowl, Kansas State's Adrian Hillburn scored a touchdown to bring the Wildcats within two. He then saluted the crowd and got flagged for an excessive celebration, which ruined his team's chances at tying the game and they ultimately fell to the Orange 36-34. Take a look.

NFL Week 17 Picks

Alas it is the final week of the 2010 NFL season and while most of the playoff spots have been wrapped up already, there are still a few berths that are up in the air going into the finale.

  • AFC South Divisional Championship
    • Colts in with a win over the Titans (4:15, CBS)
    • Jaguars in with a win over the Texans (4:15, CBS) and a Colts loss
  • NFC West Divisional Championship
    • Rams in with a win over the Seahawks or tie (8:20, NBC)
    • Seahawks in with a win over the Rams
  • NFC Wild Card: 6 Seed
    • Packers in with a win over the Bears (4:15, FOX) or a loss by the Buccaneers and Giants
    • Giants in with a win over the Redskins (4:15, FOX) and a Packers loss
    • Buccaneers in with a win over the Saints (FOX, 1:00), a Packers loss and a Giants loss
So who will make it to the playoffs? And who will go into the playoffs or the offseason with a victory in their finale?
It's time for my week 17 predictions.

Dominic Raiola Told A Dolphins Fan To Do What?

After his club's victory over the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium, Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, who has never been shy about sharing his opinions, told a fan to do something that is considered inappropriate for most of America. Let's go to the videotape (viewer discretion is advised).

NFL Week 17 TV Schedule

The NFL has just released the week 17 schedule and the surprising change is that the Rams-Seahawks game that will decide the NFC West will be flexed to primetime on NBC. To be honest, I'm rather surprised that NBC chose not to flex Bears-Packers or Buccaneers-Saints.
Courtesy of Fang's Bites, here is the schedule for the final week of the 2010 NFL regular season.

NFL Playoff Predictions After Week 15

There are only two more weeks of the 2010 NFL season and only the Patriots, Steelers, Falcons and Bears have clinched playoff spots. Will the Giants get in this week or will the Packers have the upper hand in the NFC Wild Card. Can the Chiefs hold off the Chargers in the AFC West? And does anybody want to win the NFC West?
Thanks to the ESPN Playoff Machine, here are my playoff predictions after week 15.

21 December 2010

NFL Week 16 Picks

The Packers and Giants face off on Sunday at 4:15 at Lambeau in an extremely important game for NFC playoff positioning. The Giants are in if they win. The Packers need to win this game and then either beat the Bears or the Giants and Buccaneers would both have to lose in week 17. It's a must win for both teams but only one can win; who will it be?
It's time for my week 16 predictions.

Well it's that time we have been all waiting for, bowl season. I mean, who is not excited for the BBVA Compass Bowl? Or the New Mexico Bowl? Or the Beef O'Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg?
Since it is such a special time, I decided to do something fresh for my bowl game predictions; have a guest picker who's is more famous than any guest picker on College Gameday this year, the great Jeff Parles. Here we go.

Carmelo Anthony To The Nets? Not As Crazy As You Might Think

We all know that the Knicks are the leader in the clubhouse for Carmelo Anthony as ESPN has said that he will only sign an extension with them. However, do not be surprised if Carmelo ends up in the uniform he is wearing above and here's why.

Brett Favre Inactive Tonight, Consecutive Start Streak Ends

For the first time September of 1992, Brett Favre will not be starting a game as he is inactive for tonight's game against the Giants in Detroit. He has started an NFL record 297 consecutive games, 321 including playoff contests. Favre will not start due to the injured shoulder he suffered in the first quarter last week against the Buffalo Bills. This is obviously the beginning of the end of his illustrious career.

The deal is believed to be a four-year contract for $2 million per season.

Metrodome Roof Has Collapsed, With Video

We all know of the New York Giants' struggle to get to Minneapolis and getting stuck in Kansas City overnight. And the game was rescheduled to Monday night on the FOX stations in New York and thw Twin Cities, as well as on DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket. Now we do not know where the game will be played due to the collapse of the air-supported roof of the Metrodome as seen above due to the heavy snow.  The game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit at 7:20 EST on Monday night.
One thing to note, if the game had been played today Brett Favre would not have played.
Here is video of the roof caving in. It's pretty crazy.

Miami Hurricanes: Who Should Be The Next Head Coach?

Even though the team has not been a powerhouse in college football of late, coaching the Miami Hurricanes is still a prestigious job. Their is a lot of talent on the roster and the ACC could be won by The U as soon as next year. Winning a national title in Coral Gables also is not just a pipe dream. Just because Randy Shannon did not have much success does not mean the next coach can't.
The Miami Herald has reported that the University of Miami has narrowed its choices down to four coaches. Using that list of coaches, I'll say which one is the best candidate.

NFL Week 14 Picks

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots scared the rest of the NFL with their six touchdown demolition of the New York Jets Monday night and they looked like a well oiled machine moving the ball at will and playing strong defense against a good Jets team that was utterly embarrassed. They're taking on the surprising Chicago Bears on Sunday, will we see another demolition or a surprise?
It's time for my week 14 predictions.

The 2022 World Cup In Qatar? Really?

Never mind the fact that FIFA rated Qatar's 2022 World Cup bid as high risk. Never mind the fact that during the traditional time the World Cup is held, Qatar's average temperature is over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Never mind the fact that Qatar is in a notably politically unstable region and has had a coup as recently as 1995 and a foiled plot in 2002. Never mind the fact that they allied with Saudi Arabia. Never mind the fact that women are still subject to routine sexual discrimination and that homosexuality is punishable by up to a five year prison sentence. Or the fact that Qatar has no soccer tradition snd Qatar definitely did not pay off FIFA.

But hey, at least that island stadium looks awesome.
